Daphne's memories of her mother are blurry. Her mother died when she was six-years-old. What memories she does have are fading fast.

Her mother was a cult screen actress during the 1970s and 1980s. However, on-set of the scariest movie never made, Daphne's mother died. Daphne has never received a straight answer as to how, or for that matter, who killed her mother.

When she turns sixteen years old, clues to her mother's death begin surfacing. Lost reels of the mysterious film no one ever saw come into her possession. After the screenwriter who wrote that fateful film plunges to his death from a hotel window in Italy a memoir he had been writing is discovered. A doctoral thesis about the films haunted director arrives in the mail with secrets about the director's dark vision. These revelations lead Daphne to an F.B.I. file that an agent wanted to turn into a best selling novel that proved the Feds had been interested in Ruby Carmichael's career during the so called Satanic Panic of the late 1970s and early 1980s--just around the time Daphne's mother was developing her comeback project.

This kaleidoscope of mixed media will reveal secrets about Daphne's past that have been a part of creating the girl...even the star...she is today...
